Erick graduated from Columbia Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons in 2024 and is now an Emergency Medicine PGY-1 at the UMiami/Jackson program in Miami, Florida. He is passionate about language learning and addressing the language barrier in American healthcare. Having moved to the Rio Grande Valley, Texas from Mexico at a young age and not learning English until he was 10 years old, he personally faced language barriers when seeking healthcare growing up. Apart from speaking Spanish, he speaks Portuguese and is currently learning French. With this website, he hopes to help healthcare students and professionals improve their Medical Spanish through free online resources.
